Joy Hopwood was a former presenter of A.B.C. TV’s “Play School” who loves working with kids. She was a speaker & facilitator for Fairfield Council’s Bring It On festival for the youth (2017), and emcee for the “Walk For Respect” (2015 and 2017) event in Sydney where 1000 people attended & emcee for International Women’s Day Westfield (2016), International Women’s Day, organised by the Worker’s Union in Sydney city, and a guest speaker for Harmony Day 2013, Cancer Council’s Daffodil Day 2012,
Mission Australia’s Hush for Homelessness Day 2010 and speaker for “Diversity in the Arts” events.

Asian Australian Alliance (AAA) held its third expert panel forum for the St George region community on the 10th November 2013. Joy Hopwood, a key note speaker eloquently addressed a crowd of 120 community leaders and individuals on the issue of a lack of diversity in commercial film and television in Australia, as well as contrast aspects with her own journey in becoming the first Asian Australian presenter for Playschool to having her own production company. Joy discussed her advocacy work and her passion and knowledge engaged the crowd.
