After inheriting their late mother’s casting agency, two sisters must fight to keep it alive while navigating sabotage, fierce rivalry, and the weight of family legacy, before it slips into the hands of their vengeful uncle.

Synopsis

Australian Chinese sisters Willow and Annika Lim inherit their late mother Daphne’s beloved Laughing Lim’s Casting Agency, but the gift comes with a high stakes condition: the business must turn a profit within a year or it will be handed over to their estranged and embittered uncle, Stephen Lim. With clients withdrawing and momentum slipping, the sisters are left holding onto just two key projects, a TV series, Frenemies Away, and a commercial for Track’M’Pet, as they fight to keep the agency alive.

Willow, once a teen star and now a determined casting assistant, carries most of the burden, while Annika sets aside her dream of working with animals to support her sister. As the pressure builds, long buried family tensions rise to the surface. Things take a more sinister turn when Willow’s childhood rival, Tia Opal, lashes out after missing a major role. In a calculated move, she frames journalist Ryan Knoxwell with a damaging letter that threatens to destroy the agency’s reputation. Although Ryan denies any involvement when confronted, suspicion begins to circle closer to home, especially when Stephen appears to align himself with Tia’s scheme.

In the midst of the chaos, Willow forms an unexpected connection with Ryan, and their growing bond, grounded in shared values and a deep sense of loyalty, reignites her determination. At the same time, Annika uncovers a series of family diaries that reveal the deeper roots of Stephen’s bitterness and offer new insight into their mother’s true intentions. Armed with this understanding, she challenges her uncle to let go of the past and reconsider what truly matters.

As loyalties are tested and the future of Laughing Lim’s hangs in the balance, the sisters must decide how far they are willing to go to protect their legacy and who will ultimately shape what comes next.
