ABOUT ARTIST - JOY HOPWOOD

Joy Hopwood is an Asian-Australian visual and video artist whose practice spans painting, moving image, and socially engaged storytelling. Her work explores identity, equality, and human connection, often blending cinematic narrative with fine art sensibility.

She has been a three-time finalist in the prestigious Mosman Art Prize and North Sydney Art Prize, and her work has been exhibited internationally at Paint Box Gallery and Casa Linda in New York. Alongside her exhibition practice, Hopwood has completed numerous private and corporate commissions.

In 2026, her video artwork We Are Equal was selected for City of Sydney’s Art & About public art program, premiering in October 2026, marking a significant milestone in her expanding interdisciplinary career.
